La Cascada (The Waterfall) truly reflects its name, from the cascading waterfall and stream near the front entry and the expansive ocean views from 6 of 7 suites, to the 3 swimming pools connected by a water slide.
Located in the exclusive Palmilla Caleta, La Cascada now spans 2 unobstructed beachfront lots. The new 4-story expansion added a master bedroom, full office, gymnasium, wet bar, living area, lower level suite and movie theater.
The increased space also allowed room for a unique, nationally acclaimed wine cellar with bar, tasting table, bathroom and extensive wine collection. A new 4-level elevator is accessible from the entrance level, both main levels of the house and the beach. Additional new amenities include a second swimming pool that connects to the original vanishing edge pool via a water slide, a lawn with a 3-level daybed and a fire pit. The property offers 7 fully equipped stand-alone suites, which have all been upgraded (November 2010) with an advanced state-of-the-art home automation system by Savant (www.savantav.com). Savant, the most technologically progressive whole home control and automation system, is based upon the Apple operating platform and allows users to control audio, video, lighting and air conditioning in their suites and elsewhere in the home using one of 13 iPads located throughout the property. In addition to the music stored on it, the high-tech audio and video system allows you to dock your iPod in your room and have access to it from anywhere in the house. An extensive movie and music collection on the network is accessible to all areas of the house, inside and outside. La Cascada has also been upgraded with a new Vantage lighting control system (www.vantagecontrols.com), allowing for full lighting control of the home, wine cellar, theater, gym, pools, patio and landscaping.
The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances along with a butler's pantry, 3 Sub-Zero refrigerators, 2 Wolf ovens, Viking range and large storage areas for supplies and cooking utensils.
The movie theater features a 100-inch Stewart screen, which includes satellite high-definition television, Linn stereo system and an automated library of more than 1,000 movies contained in the Kaleidescape digital movie system (www.kaleidescape.com). The Kaleidescape system is also in all suites, gym, kitchen and living room, allowing all areas to play the same or different movies simultaneously.
The 4-level elevator provides access to the beach-level boathouse, which has a bathroom and full-sized refrigerator. There is also an elevator from one of the master suites to the kitchen/dining area. The gym contains state-of-the-art equipment, including a new Woodway treadmill, Life Fitness elliptical cross-trainer, StairMaster, free weights, BOSU Balance Trainer, bars, bands, mats, refreshment center, steam room, bathroom, and full access to the entire property entertainment system (movies, music, iPad, iPods, satellite TV, and satellite radio).
